K2 Splitboard

Have any of you shredders out there been dreaming of some backcountry skinning trips? K2 snowboarding just released some news on their new splitboard setup.

Remember the old K2 step-in snowboard bindings? Well, K2’s new Kwicker touring setup is a spin off that old system, mated with the Voile puck and plate system, and a snowboard boot with more internal support to make up for the lack of highbacks. What’s the point, you might be asking? Well it weights same as your normal board, (four pounds lighter than most other splitboard setups) and the transition time between touring and shredding is cut in half. So it’s way lighter, faster for transitions, and pretty painless to use!

We’re thinking Buttermilk full moon skin and 10th Mountain Division Hut trip to Margy’s or McNamara Huts up out of Aspen! The snow conditions getting better by the day!
